Thomas Camillo Appointed Director of Admissions(announcement from Gannon University—November 2013)

Following a national search, Gannon University announced the appointment of Thomas Camillo as director of undergraduate admissions, a position he has held on an interim basis since July.

As director, Camillo will provide leadership in the development and implementation of the University’s recruiting strategies, programs and services. He will supervise the work of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, which includes the recruitment of first-year undergraduates, transfers, re-admitted students and dual enrollment students.

Camillo has worked in undergraduate admissions for eight years at Gannon, during which time the University experienced a 21 percent growth in overall undergraduate enrollment and a 92 percent growth in new transfer students.

In addition, Camillo directly supported the high school dual enrollment program, which has grown 54 percent over the past two years. He was also responsible for creative input, editing, and budget management for the publications used by undergraduate admissions.

A 1999 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Camillo received a bachelor’s degree in communication. From the time of his graduation until he came to Gannon, Camillo was a broadcast journalist in Erie. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree at Gannon.
