Monmouth is a founding member of the prestigious Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), one of the nation’s oldest and most successful academic consortia. Through the ACM, students have access to an attractive array of study abroad and other opportunities, in addition to the curricular programs offered by the home campus.

Student enrollment is approximately 1,380, with students representing more than 20 states. Ninety-five percent of Monmouth’s students live in campus housing and they are highly engaged in co-curricular campus life. More than 80 student organizations provide a rich array of opportunities for active participation and leadership development. Twenty varsity athletic teams for men and women compete under the auspices of NCAA Division III, with an emphasis on broad-based student involvement, sportsmanship, gender equity, and integration with the educational mission of the College.

The College’s commitment to the liberal arts and teaching is evident through the attitude of its talented faculty and its curricular structure and offerings. Dedicated to creating engaged, effective citizens, the innovative Monmouth curriculum offers students an integrated four-year program of increasing civic engagement and responsibility, highlighted by a senior capstone experience in active citizenship. Monmouth seeks to develop students and alumni into creative and resourceful citizens who understand the pivotal role the Midwest will play nationally and globally. The academic programs and educational approach represent a purposeful combination of learning and practice that serves students and graduates well.

In recent years, Monmouth’s campus has been transformed through new facilities and renovations, creating one of the most attractive small college campuses in the Midwest. Responsible fiscal management has led to consistently balanced budgets while eliminating deferred maintenance. Sound finances, curricular innovation, strong leadership and an elevated educational profile together have created a sense of momentum on campus.
