Janelle Holmboe has been named Vice President for Enrollment at Warren Wilson College. She joins the College on July 13.

Holmboe comes to Warren Wilson College from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts where she was Dean of Admissions since 2013 and Dean of Undergraduate Admissions from 2011-13. She was responsible for creating and implementing the College’s comprehensive recruitment strategy for undergraduate and graduate students as well as working collaboratively to create and coordinate recruitment marketing programs and initiatives. These efforts resulted in record numbers of applications and increased enrollment for the College. Prior to joining American International, Holmboe served Pacific University, from 2005-11 first as Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions and then as Associate Director.

Holmboe was selected after an extensive, nationwide search. “Janelle is an outstanding addition to the Warren Wilson College community,” says President Steven L. Solnick. “She brings experience, energy, and enthusiasm to the role of vice president. Her expertise in enrollment management coupled with her passion for the College’s mission and values will enable great success.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in business administration from George Fox University. In commenting about her appointment, Ms. Holmboe remarked, “I am thrilled to be joining Warren Wilson. The College provides an education that is unmatched; an education steeped in the liberal arts tradition and grounded in developing a strong work ethic as well as an unparalleled commitment to serving community-at-large. Central to this education is the value of ‘doing,’ and a commitment to opportunities for students to learn, serve and work through real-world experiences. I am convinced that this learning triad best prepares Warren Wilson students for work and life, and I can’t wait to lead the effort in telling prospective students around the world about all this College has to offer.”

Founded in 1894, Warren Wilson College is a private liberal arts institution located in Asheville, North Carolina. Warren Wilson is the country’s only liberal arts college with a national student body and integrated work and service programs. In addition to its undergraduate program, it has an acclaimed MFA Program for Writers, the nation’s first low-residency graduate program in creative writing.
