An announcement from Hugh F. Lena, Provost and Senior VPAA, Providence College: I am pleased to announce that Mr. Raul Fonts has accepted my invitation to assume the role of dean of admission and financial aid, effective June 1, 2012. Raul emerged from a national search, assisted by Lahti Search Consultants, which yielded a number of very qualified candidates, including three who were interviewed on campus last month.
A member of the Providence College community for the past twelve years, and an admissions professional for more than a quarter century, Raul brings the perspectives and experiences that make him well-suited for this challenging and important job. A graduate of King’s College (B.S. in marketing) and LaSalle University (M.A. in education), Raul worked at both those institutions, along with the University of Scranton, before coming to PC. Through his work, including participation in regional and national associations for college admission counseling, Raul has demonstrated a real commitment to Catholic higher education and, during the past twelve years, the mission of Providence College.
I know you will join me in congratulating Raul on this promotion and that you will work with him and his colleagues to ensure that Providence College will meet its enrollment goals in the future.
Hugh F. Lena, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
