Since founding Lahti Search Consultants in 1997, Terry Lahti has used the powerful combination of years of hands-on experience in admissions and enrollment management and an unmatched network to identify and connect top-quality enrollment professionals with positions at a wide range of colleges and universities. She and her colleagues use a distinctly personal approach as they develop a deep understanding of institutional culture, needs, and expectations. In addition, they invest significant time building relationships with prospective candidates from around the country.
Over the past decade, Terry has served more than 90 colleges and universities. In working with presidents, deans, admissions and financial aid staffs, search committees, and other constituents, Terry develops a comprehensive understanding of each campus and its enrollment context and needs. She then uses this critical knowledge to identify and attract the candidates best qualified to help institutions meet their goals. College clients have characterized Terry and her search colleagues as great listeners; keen observers; understanding and respectful of institutional culture; fun to work with; and of the highest integrity.
Terry began her professional career at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University in Minnesota as an admissions counselor and worked her way up through enrollment management positions of increasing responsibility. She has served as director of recruitment at the University of Miami in Florida, director of admissions at Agnes Scott College in Georgia, and dean of admissions at Kalamazoo College in Michigan.
Terry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Saint Benedict and has completed extensive coursework in administration as part of the graduate program at the University of Notre Dame.
Terry is one of eight siblings and delights in spoiling her 17 nieces and nephews. She also enjoys bringing people together–be they friends, relatives or colleagues. To relax, Terry takes long walks in the neighborhood, around the lakes, or in the woods. She divides her time between Lahti Search Consultants offices in Michigan and Minnesota.
